Here’s my latest round-up of things I’ve been doing and consuming over the last month. I’m trying to make these posts fairly regular just to share stuff that I think is cool and hopefully to get some ideas from other people.
Stuff I’ve been watching
EURO 2016!! I’m so tired from all the 11pm and 5am kick-offs. (The 2am ones are just plain prohibitive, other than on a weekend.) Not too bothered about the lack of sleep, it’s only a month and it’s been entertaining.
Major tournaments still make me feel like a little kid. Not completely sold on the 24 team expansion but it is good to see the likes of Iceland and Hungary come in and do well.
Zootopia / Zootropolis (depending on where you’re from) – Just brilliant. Moving, artistic and full of wonderful messages.
Stuff I’ve been listening to
I saw Polica at the Opera House. They nailed the songs but the sound just sounded a bit off, like it wasn’t all coming together right. It was also half empty which was weird and probably had an effect on my enjoyment. While it was good, I left before the encore. I was shattered and fancied a beer.
Otherwise I’ve been listening to loads of podcasts, Guardian Euro Football Daily has been brilliant and I’m still working through the Desert Island Discs back catalogue.
Stuff I’ve been eating
I’m still going on the toasted sandwiches with more recipes to come but I’m also getting into slow cooking stuff. I should have started a few weeks ago but I plan to fit in a fair few recipes while the weather is cold. Stews, casseroles, meaty, hearty goodness. It’s exciting.
I’ve been doing a bit of thinking and writing, particularly about the EU referendum. Otherwise, I’ve been fitting sleep around the football which is taking up most of my time – I love it.
